Temple of the Longest Night ~
Snowy winter nights - in their silence & pristine white - covering the evergreens and frosting the bare branches of the forest primeval, icing the cliffs along the wild, blue sea and blanketing each abode, peak and tower.
And alone in the cold quiet, stands the most peaceful of sanctuaries, who's namesake is utterly apropos … Temple of the Longest Night.
A sacred space, of ceremony, ritual and spiritual divining, the Temple was originally transformed from a layer of stone many moons ago, for those seeking refuge and guidance. Not much has changed.
The faces perhaps, yes, but the purpose remains. The Temple maidens and knaves offer their insight and comfort to anyone in need. Performing their daily tasks regardless of interlude, weather or time of day ...
Because there are oils and waters to be blessed, relics to be consecrated, lunar cycles to map - all leading up to the longest night of our earthly year. Then to begin again.
Celebrating the dark to beckon the light. One cannot simply have one without the other.
Well worth the trek into the wintery woods … To find this jewel of celestial enlightenment and supernatural counsel.
