Evanscourt ~
Rising from the rocky cliffs of Cloven's north easterly ocean shores like a mighty wall of white foam amid a maelstrom upon the briny deep, Nehalennia VonSayer Evans has resided in the coastal jewel known as Evanscourt for as long as she can remember ...
for as long as anyone can remember, for that matter.
Nehalennia, or Lenny as she's better known, is the only remaining inhabitant (though her son, Ambrose, checks in on his mother most every day) and she willfully, quite defiantly too, insists that she intends to stay on until her dear husband, Captain Evans, returns home
safe & sound.
Despite the fact that Lenny has been endlessly waiting and watching for his fateful homecoming thru the turning of the seasons for years now ...
Her once chestnut brown locks having faded to an ashen gray.
Evanscourt was her beloved captain's wedding gift to her. He saw to each and every detail, making sure he secretly glimpsed the tell-tale approving twinkle in Lenny's eye,
every step of the way.
Constructed in shingle style architecture with Italianate nuances, the manor is crowned with a notably bittersweet widow's walk.
Before long, Lenny's safe haven took shape and gave passage to the few happy years their small family would enjoy before the captain was to answer the call of both duty and the sea.

In homage to Evanscourt, it's lasting sentiment and persevering sentry, a gathering of sea-hued stones and symbols of that which we hold closest.
An antique brass escutcheon, a representation of home and our kindred, is the centerpiece, surrounded by vintage brass bar links and faceted stones of rich, seaweed green Canadian Jade and pale ocean blue Aquamarine.
Completing the necklace is a fringe of more vintage chain and a single, delicate antique skeleton key, a reminder to keep safe those whom we hold, undying, in our hearts.
~
The necklace measures approx. 27" long and is designed to slip over the wearer's head, hence no clasp to fiddle with.
The key measures 1-1/4" long on it's own. The escutcheon & accompanying chain fringe measure 6" at it's longest.
